الخصائص الأساسية

Physical Properties

  • Appearance: At room temperature, it is a pale yellow, transparent, viscous liquid. The common industrial concentration is 30%–35%. It has no noticeable odor. Slight layering may occur in low-temperature environments, but it can be restored to a uniform state by heating and stirring.

  • Solubility: Easily soluble in water, ethanol, and other polar solvents. Its aqueous solution exhibits weak alkalinity (pH 7.5–9.0). It mixes with water in any proportion without precipitation.

  • Stability: Stable at room temperature under sealed conditions. Resistant to hard water, weak acids, and weak bases. Decomposes upon prolonged heating at high temperatures (>120°C), reducing surfactant activity. Prone to oxidation reactions upon contact with strong oxidizing agents, causing darkening of product color.

  • Core Properties: Exhibits excellent foam stabilization, thickening, emulsifying, and antistatic properties. Highly compatible when blended with anionic, cationic, and nonionic surfactants. Low irritancy and good biodegradability.

Chemical Properties

  • Molecular structure contains lipophilic cocoamidopropyl alkyl and hydrophilic amine oxide groups, classified as an amide-type amine oxide surfactant.

  • Chemically mild and resistant to hydrolysis, maintains stable surface activity across acidic and alkaline systems (pH 3.0–11.0) with no significant corrosivity.

I. Personal Care Products

  • Shampoo, Conditioner: Thickening, foam stabilization, anti-static properties enhance foam texture, leaving hair smooth and silky. Gentle and non-irritating, suitable for infant and sensitive skin products.

  • Body Wash, Cleansing Products: Blended with AES and other surfactants to reduce irritation and enhance cleansing power while protecting the skin barrier. Used in mild cleansing formulas and amino acid-based facial cleansers.

  • Oral Care Products: Generates fine foam for enhanced cleaning, low irritation, improves taste and stability in toothpaste and mouthwash.

II. Household Cleaning Products

  • Laundry Detergents & Fabric Softeners: Anti-static, emulsifying, dispersing properties boost stain removal (especially grease and sweat stains), soften fabrics, and prevent static cling.

  • Dishwashing detergents: Formulated to enhance foam stability and grease emulsification, rinse easily with minimal residue, suitable for high-efficiency low-foam products.

  • Hard Surface Cleaners: Disperses limescale and grease, aids in disinfection, non-corrosive. Used in glass cleaners, floor cleaners, and kitchen/bathroom cleaners.

III. Industrial and Other Applications

  • Textile Printing & Dyeing: Acts as an antistatic agent and leveling agent, improves fiber conductivity, enhances dye leveling, and reduces uneven dyeing.

  • Oilfield additives: Used as drilling fluid and oil displacement agent additives, exhibiting emulsifying, wetting, and salt-resistant properties to enhance system stability or crude oil stripping efficiency.

  • Biopharmaceuticals: Serves as a solubilizer and emulsifier to aid dissolution of poorly soluble drugs, improving formulation stability and bioavailability.

I. Health Protection

  • Skin Protection: CAO is low-irritant, but high-concentration undiluted solution (>50%) or prolonged contact may cause skin dryness and tightness. Wear nitrile rubber gloves during handling. If accidental contact occurs, rinse thoroughly with water. Apply moisturizer for itching or discomfort. Seek medical attention if symptoms persist.

  • Eye Protection: High-concentration undiluted solution splashed into eyes may cause stinging and redness. Wear impact-resistant goggles during operations (especially mixing and dilution). If splashed, lift eyelids and flush with copious amounts of running water for 10-15 minutes (rotate eyes if possible). Seek medical attention if symptoms persist.

  • Respiratory Protection: Low volatility at room temperature; generates minor irritant vapors at high temperatures (>80°C). Heating operations must be conducted in a fume hood or well-ventilated area. Wear disposable protective masks and avoid prolonged inhalation.

  • Ingestion Protection: Not for consumption. Accidental ingestion may cause gastrointestinal discomfort. Wash hands after handling. Eating and drinking are strictly prohibited in the work area. Store product sealed in a cool, dark place labeled “Non-edible chemical product.” Keep separate from food items. If ingested, drink large amounts of warm water to dilute. Do not induce vomiting. Seek medical attention with the product label if severe symptoms occur.

II. Storage and Transportation

  • Storage: Store in a cool, ventilated, dry warehouse (5-35°C), protected from light and high temperatures. Keep plastic drums sealed, elevated 10 cm off the floor and 20 cm from walls. Use opened containers promptly. Do not store with strong oxidizing agents, acids, or alkalis. Keep separate from other surfactants. Equip with leak containment equipment.

  • Transportation: Use clean, dry vehicles with plastic sheeting and tarpaulin covers. Handle with care during loading/unloading. Do not transport with strong oxidizing agents or foodstuffs. Follow non-hazardous goods regulations. Prefer early morning or evening transport during summer to avoid high temperatures.

III. Emergency Spill Response

  • Small spills: Absorb with cloths/oil-absorbent mats. Seal contaminated materials for professional disposal. Rinse affected area with water.

  • Major Spills: Establish a safety perimeter; contain spills with sand/leak-proof pads; pump out leaked liquid. After cleanup, rinse the ground with clean water; discharge wastewater only after meeting discharge standards.

IV. Environmental Safety

  • Treat production wastewater through biochemical processes to meet discharge standards before release; avoid large-scale discharge into water bodies.

  • Collect and recycle discarded packaging centrally; do not dispose of it arbitrarily.
